SOLA started from a single frustration. The suncare we wanted to wear was nowhere on the shelf. So we spent three years making it.
Most luxury suncare is built around the price, then the formula is filled in afterward. We started the other way. The formula came first. Everything else had to earn its place around it.
Our formulation partner had spent years inside the category as a frustrated observer: beautiful bottles wrapped around ordinary chemistry, at prices that had little to do with what was actually inside.
He believed a better formula was possible, and he was qualified to make it. The question that started SOLA was plain. Why does luxury suncare ask so little of itself?
The development took years, not because suncare is hard to make, but because we were unwilling to compromise on any part of it. Each version was tested on skin, then rejected, then rebuilt.
There is no oxybenzone in the formula and no octinoxate. We wanted clean, effective protection that the science could stand behind, and we took the time it needed.
Every decision was made to meet the highest European cosmetic standards, under EU Cosmetics Regulation No. 1223/2009.
Most brands raise money to build a product. Ours is already built. Tested. Compliant. Ready to manufacture.
The collection is two products: an SPF 30 capsule and an SPF 50 capsule. Both are formulated to EU Cosmetics Regulation standards, with clean formulation principles applied at every stage.
We don't need time to invent the product. We need the right production partner and the right relationships to bring it to people who care how it was made. Europe first. Then the world.
SPF 30 and SPF 50, in single-dose capsules. Available in twelve-count and forty-count.
Developed in Europe to EU Cosmetics Regulation No. 1223/2009, with a complete product information file.
No banned UV filters. No fillers chosen for cost. Nothing added that the formula didn't need.
The formula belongs to our formulation partner, a scientist whose years in the lab give SOLA a foundation few suncare brands ever have. He engineered the chemistry and owns the science behind it.
Nate founded the company and built the brand around that work. He runs strategy, the launch, and the relationships that will carry SOLA into Europe and beyond. The science and the business each have a clear owner, and neither pretends to be the other.
